About the Role As Superintendent, you’ll run the jobsite from first shovel to final punch. You’ll own the master schedule (MS Project), coordinate subcontractors, manage site logistics, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining Deacon’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the overall project schedule, updating look‑ahead and recovery plans.
Direct day‑to‑day field activities: manpower, equipment, deliveries, and site logistics.
Monitor subcontractor progress, verify compliance with drawings and specifications, and drive quality control.
Lead daily safety huddles, enforce company and OSHA requirements, and conduct site inspections.
Manage field documentation (RFIs, daily logs, photos) using Microsoft Office and Procore/PlanGrid.
Coordinate with agencies and inspectors for testing and special inspections.
Mentor project engineers, foremen, and assistant superintendents; foster a collaborative, high‑performance team.
Track quantities, productivity, and cost codes; forecast labor and equipment needs.
Resolve site challenges promptly, such as weather conditions, unforeseen circumstances, or emergencies, to maintain schedule integrity.
Qualifications & Skills
5+ years of field experience, including at least one full cycle as lead Superintendent (ground‑up or major renovation).
History of successfully managing projects of varying size—from small TI to $50M ground‑up.
Able to read plans/specs, understand means & methods, and sequence work efficiently.
Solid scheduling skills—comfortable building and updating schedules.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Procore, PlanGrid, or similar field tools.
Basic understanding of cost control, quantity tracking, and construction accounting.
Strong leadership and communication skills; able to motivate diverse trade teams.
OSHA 30
certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
