Our client, a nationwide recycling manufacturer, has an immediate need for an experienced
Electrical Panel Builder
to join their team in South Holland. Our candidate of choice will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels according to engineering schematics and layout drawings. Strong attention to detail is required along with knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities
Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. Assemble components such as circuit breakers, relays, PLCs, and terminal blocks into control panels. Perform point-to-point wiring and ensure proper wire routing, labeling, and terminations. Test completed panels for continuity, functionality, and compliance with specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety protocols. Troubleshoot and correct wiring errors or component issues as needed. Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and production teams to meet project deadlines. Document assembly and testing results as required. Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electrical or electronics preferred. 2+ year’s experience in electrical panel building or similar role. Ability to perform work using electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Experience with electrical assembly and troubleshooting. Knowledge of motor controls, PLC’s, HMI’s and VFDs. Experience with three phase power. (208, 240, 480, 600VAC) Familiar with electrical components (Circuit breakers, control relays, motor starters, etc.). Possess good communication skills & an ability to adapt to changing situations. Familiarity with UL standards, NEC codes, and industrial electrical components. Previous experience working on control panels. Ability to use hand tools, crimpers, wire strippers, multimeters, and other relevant equipment.
