RS Avionics_Elec Tech III in GAC Savannah Unique Skills: This requisition is generated for all Savannah service centers. Candidates must be able to work any shift. Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required. 5 years experience in an avionics/electrical career field. 2 years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics may offset two years of experience requirement. A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred. Position Purpose:

Provides technical expertise while performing operational, functional tests, and repairs of avionics/electronic aircraft equipment and systems to ensure a defect-free aircraft. Demonstrates technical skills in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing system discrepancies to minimize schedule impact. Implements process improvements to reduce costs and meet schedules without compromising safety or quality. Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrates superior technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting. Conducts installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components per engineering specifications, drawings, and manuals to ensure defect-free systems. Ensures quality and efficiency in installations, troubleshooting, and repairs of malfunctioning systems. Repairs or replaces defective components and wiring, demonstrating effective techniques such as splicing, soldering, and pinning. Oversees compliance with engineering changes and modifications. Sets up and operates test equipment, conducting functional and operational tests for performance and reliability evaluation. Maintains accurate documentation of all work performed on aircraft. Pre-inspects work of others to reduce rework and inspection time. Provides expertise in testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems. Enforces safety programs and tool control policies. Adapts to schedule changes and coordinates with other disciplines on projects. Additional Functions: Teaches installation and testing of electrical/avionics systems as per specifications. Performs self-inspections of testing functions. Supports aircraft certification and final testing, including flight tests if required. Other Requirements: Proficiency in troubleshooting other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural repairs is preferred. APU and engine run qualifications are preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Must be proficient in English.
