We are seeking skilled, safety-focused Tree Care Climbers to join our high-performing commercial tree care crews in the Portland metro and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on climbing position that demands expert-level arborist skills, safe climbing/rigging abilities, strong pruning knowledge, and a true passion for tree work done right.

With seven local service centers, we proudly serve the greater Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Columbia Gorge, and Salem regions.

Position Overview Crystal Greens Landscape is looking for experienced Tree Care Climbers who thrive working at height and take pride in precision pruning, safe removals, and clean job sites. Reporting directly to the Tree Care Foreman, you will perform technical climbing operations, assist with rigging and ground support, operate equipment, and help deliver the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on every project.

This is an ideal role for a dedicated arborist with at least 2 years of production climbing experience who wants to work year-round with a growing company that invests in its people, provides modern equipment, and rewards skill and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Climb trees using rope-and-saddle or SRT/DRS systems to perform pruning, cabling, and removal work following ANSI A300 standards.

Execute proper pruning cuts and safe rigging techniques on large trees and shrubs common to the Pacific Northwest.

Operate aerial lifts, spray rigs, loaders, and tow-behind chippers (Class A or B CDL a plus).

Control lowering ropes, supply tools aloft, and support ground crew as needed.

Cut, chip, load brush/wood, and leave every job site clean and organized.

Deliver professional, courteous customer service and represent Crystal Greens positively on commercial properties.

Perform first aid, CPR, and aerial rescue procedures when required.

Maintain tools, equipment, and climbing gear in top condition.

React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Serve as acting Foreman when requested.

Work five consecutive 810 hour days (typically Monday-Friday) with regular overtime, occasional weekends, and emergency call-out availability.
