Salary: $90,000–$105,000 annually + performance bonuses

About the Role Encore Mechanical is seeking an experienced VRF / Refrigerant Piping & Duct Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial HVAC projects. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all phases of VRF and refrigerant piping installation while ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
While sheet metal experience is beneficial, this position is primarily focused on technical expertise in VRF systems, refrigerant piping, and mechanical coordination. The ideal candidate is a servant leader —someone who leads from the front, develops people, and balances accountability with mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
Review and interpret construction plans, blueprints, submittals, and safety documentation
Develop and execute
Next Day Plans (NDPs)
and
Next Week Plans (NWPs)
Lead and coordinate VRF and refrigerant piping installation activities
Oversee sheet metal scope as part of complete HVAC system integration
Prepare material and equipment procurement orders for project startup
Plan, sequence, and adjust work schedules to meet project milestones
Evaluate foremen and field personnel to maximize team performance
Estimate manpower requirements and support labor cost projections
Ensure strict compliance with company policies and safety standards
Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to resolve field issues
Track progress and provide consistent project status updates
Maintain accurate documentation for timekeeping, scheduling, and production
Manage materials, tools, and equipment to support efficient jobsite operations
Qualifications
Proven experience leading
VRF and refrigerant piping installations
Working knowledge of sheet metal systems and mechanical coordination
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Experience with material takeoffs, scheduling, and manpower planning
Supervisory experience managing
5–20+ field personnel
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting, logs, and schedules
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
Leadership style grounded in accountability, teamwork, and mentorship
Compensation & Benefits
Salary:
$90,000–$105,000 annually (DOE)
