Requirements
Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide engineering services on multiple simultaneous federal projects ranging in value from tens to hundreds of millions of dollars in construction value.
Experience with large Federal Building Design, Medical Building Design, and/or Construction Projects, or other complex projects. \"Large\" defined as construction value at least $100 million or more.
Responsible for site observation and reporting on multiple assigned projects to government personnel.
Provide technical and administrative support.
Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Analyze design and construction issues with respect to contract requirements.
Deliver recommendations to government personnel regarding compliance with contract provisions.
Review and interpret plans and specifications, submittals, reports, schedules, modifications, cost estimates, pay applications, change orders and claims.
Provide field surveillance and prepare daily detailed reports covering all pertinent factors affecting cost and engineering considerations.
Participate in pre-construction conferences with government personnel.
Emphasis on knowledge and experience with HVAC systems, system controls, building automation, chilled water, plumbing, humidification, data centers, and other complex mechanical-engineering elements found in large buildings and utility plants.
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college (preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of engineering, construction, and contract administration experience.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or other federal project experience preferred.
Experience using RMS 3.0 preferred.
Proficiency and effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
Professional presentation and excellent communication skills with attention to detail.
