The Opportunity

McDermott + Bull is seeking a dynamic and accomplished recruiter with a demonstrated track record of success in placing executive and senior leadership talent. This role is ideal for a high‑energy professional with an entrepreneurial mindset who excels at building trusted relationships with executives across functions and industries.

The ideal candidate is proactive, results‑driven, and highly motivated, with a passion for cultivating and maintaining strong candidate relationships on behalf of our clients. In this role, you will play a critical part in aligning exceptional leadership talent with client organizations and cultures, leveraging your expertise to identify executives who deliver meaningful and lasting impact.

Scope of Responsibilities

Provide end‑to‑end project management for executive search engagements in alignment with the firm’s workflow, objectives, and key results, collaborating closely with search team members.

Participate in internal and external executive search kick‑off meetings to ensure alignment on role requirements, timelines, and success criteria.

Attend off‑site client kick‑off meetings as needed, partnering with internal team members.

Source and evaluate executive‑level candidates using advanced Boolean search techniques across LinkedIn Recruiter and other research platforms, applying criteria such as title, geography, company profile, education, industry, and functional expertise.

Proactively engage prospective candidates through multi‑channel outreach, including LinkedIn messaging, direct phone calls, email campaigns, text messaging, and professional networking.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date candidate and company records by creating and updating profiles within the firm’s ATS and CRM systems.

Conduct comprehensive candidate screenings and assessments, evaluating technical expertise, leadership capability, cultural alignment, and fit with client objectives and values.

Prepare high‑quality candidate submissions that clearly align executive talent to search engagement requirements for presentation to internal partners and clients.

Maintain consistent communication with internal partners regarding candidate pipelines, market insights, and overall search progress.

Continuously monitor and adjust daily priorities to achieve activity targets, timelines, and committed outcomes.

Leverage the firm’s systems and tools to track activity, manage follow‑ups, and report on search engagement progress.

Develop and present weekly metrics and performance updates for internal stakeholders and clients.

Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and internal partners, ensuring a seamless process.

Manage interview scheduling with clients, including coordinating travel arrangements through approved providers and travel platforms when required.

Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the interview process, providing timely updates and a high‑quality candidate experience.

Communicate disqualification decisions thoughtfully and professionally, preserving long‑term candidate relationships for future opportunities.

Participate in ongoing professional development through one‑on‑one meetings, recruiter and research team sessions, firm‑wide training, and monthly company events.

Serve as a brand ambassador by actively engaging with and reposting McDermott + Bull content on LinkedIn.

Build and nurture long‑term candidate relationships to strengthen referral networks and expand the firm’s market presence, generating follow‑on search opportunities.

Skills + Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in executive recruiting, or a combination of corporate recruiting, staffing, sales, and/or business development.

Demonstrated experience recruiting at the executive and mid‑level management tiers within organizations.

Proven success operating in a metrics‑driven environment, consistently meeting performance targets.

Strong track record of meeting deadlines and delivering projects on time.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, high‑performing team.

Strategic thinker with the ability to translate long‑term objectives into actionable, tactical execution.

Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of corporate environments and key functional areas, including Executive Leadership, Finance & Accounting, Operations, Information Technology, and Human Resources.

Exceptional communication skills with a polished, professional presence in both written and verbal interactions.

Proficient in recruiting tools and technologies, including LinkedIn, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), and CRM and/or ATS platforms.

Creative problem‑solver with the ability to think “outside the box” and develop innovative solutions.

Highly organized with a strong focus on prioritization, attention to detail, data integrity, and effective time management.

Demonstrated ability to manage workflows, build and maintain candidate relationships, and drive tasks to completion using CRM systems.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year institution.

Ability to work in the office 4 days a week, Monday ‑ Thursday.
