Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Executive Chef role located in Grand Rapids, MI. The Executive Chef will oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including meal planning, food preparation, and ensuring high-quality culinary experiences. Responsibilities include managing kitchen staff, ordering and managing inventory, adhering to budgetary guidelines, and meeting health and safety standards. The Executive Chef will also be responsible for menu innovation and maintaining consistency in food presentation and taste.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure high-quality culinary outputs. Manage kitchen staff, including supervision and training. Plan menus, prepare meals, and ensure consistency in taste and presentation. Order and manage inventory; monitor stock levels and vendor relationships. Adhere to budgetary guidelines and control costs where possible. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. Drive menu innovation and quality improvements.

Qualifications

Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to supervise and train kitchen staff. Culinary expertise in meal preparation, menu development, and food presentation. Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and health standards. Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and maintaining budgets. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills. A professional culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred. Previous experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership culinary role is highly desirable.
