Job Summary:
This role is responsible for growing strategic relationships with National Big Box hardware retailers, driving profitable sales growth, market share expansion, and brand visibility across both in-store and online channels. The position requires deep expertise in retail account management, merchandising fundamentals, product line reviews, and complex negotiations, along with the ability to influence outcomes through strong cross‑functional collaboration.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will combine analytics with an entrepreneurial drive to develop and execute strategic plans, manage the full product sales lifecycle, and shape future product and assortment strategies. Success in this role demands strong leadership presence, relationship‑building beyond the buyer level, and the ability to balance top‑line growth with margin and operational excellence in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strong Retail sales experience managing National Big Box hardware retailers (i.e. Home Depot, Lowes and Menards) with a strong understanding of in‑store merchandising fundamentals to improve brand exposure and drive conversion.
Establish strong relationships and mindshare with key Retail partners to influence opportunities and outcomes while achieving strategic and tactical objectives, grow sales, market share and brand awareness.
Analyze the business and prepare assortment, pricing, planogram and promotional plans for Product Line Reviews to promote and grow market share for the company.
Lead, schedule, and prepare internal planning meetings prior to customer facing meetings and reviews.
Develop relationships above the buyer/category manager level while deepening the partnership cross functionally at each customer.
Work closely with sourcing and product management teams to find opportunities within product portfolio and influence future product roadmap.
Drive online expansion for assigned Retail partners to grow sales, conversion rates and brand awareness.
Collaborate with marketing team to develop merchandising strategies and market intelligence collateral.
Ability to create and implement strategic plans to grow sales and market share while balancing top line revenue and bottom line margin targets to exceed goals.
Drive negotiations with new and existing Retail partners to optimize and achieve shared outcomes in close collaboration with cross functional team members.
Oversee each step of the product sales cycle: strategy planning, product line reviews, terms negotiation, forecasting, inventory management, POS analysis, and OTIF.
Provide strategic input for the annual Operating Plan (OP) building process and own/manage promotional budgets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent
Knowledge of major Big Box hardware retailers purchasing process with 7+ years of related sales account management experience.
Strong entrepreneurial spirit with an eagerness to meet and exceed goals and targets
Attention to detail and strong communication skills
Well‑developed analytical skills. Ability to think analytically and make decisions or recommendations based on numbers and/or fact‑based information
Highly motivated, self‑directed individual who thrives in fast‑paced team environment
Highly organized individual capable of simultaneously managing relationships and executing strategies across multiple retail partners
Ability to adapt to change, expanding skills and accommodating to expanding responsibilities.
Assertive, organized, and strong follow‑through
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Up to 40% of travel for customer visits and industry tradeshows
