Opportunity Overview We are seeking a Junior Radiation Protection Technician to support the radiation protection program at our Waltz Mill site in Madison, PA. Responsibilities include surveillance of radiological work areas, radioactive material and waste management, data‑records management, and radiological sample collection/analysis. The role reports to the RSO & RP Supervisor.
Your Day‑to‑Day
Perform radiation control work activities to support maintenance, decontamination, and compliance operations under the supervision of senior personnel.
Use instrumentation to conduct radiological surveys of work areas and produce associated documents.
Conduct and support assessments of radiological conditions in controlled areas.
Respond to radiological incidents, contamination events, radiological emergencies, and participate in corrective action activities under senior supervision.
Establish and maintain radiological control points, stock radiological supplies, handle radioactive materials, and manage radiological protective equipment.
Provide radiological support during preparation, packaging, and shipment/transfer of radioactive materials and wastes.
Who You Are
High school education combined with experience in radiation work, radiation protection or health physics.
Experience interpreting electronic instrumentation.
Training in basic radiological safety and contamination control techniques.
Ability to work shifts and overtime.
Pass background screening, drug test, and meet scheduling reliability.
Team‐oriented, able to work under general project direction.
Physically capable of lifting and transporting 40 pounds, and standing/walking 4‑6 hours per day.
Pass a routine medical examination and required training, including respirator fit testing.
Valid driver’s license.

The base salary range for this position, dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $24.00/hour to $26.00/hour.
