Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Yountville, CA and St. Helena, CA. The Winery Sous Chef will support the Executive Chef in planning and preparing high‑quality meals, tastings, and experiences that highlight local and seasonal ingredients, curating menus that pair harmoniously with our wines. Responsibilities include managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards, overseeing food preparation and presentation, training kitchen staff, and maintaining kitchen organization and inventory.
Qualifications
Culinary skills such as menu development, food preparation, and cooking techniques
Organizational abilities, including inventory management and kitchen team coordination
Keen attention to detail in food presentation and quality standards
Strong communication and team management skills
Proficiency in ensuring food safety and hygiene standards
Passion for wine and culinary pairings is highly desirable
Relevant culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to seasonal menus and event‑driven food requirements
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must submit to a criminal background check
