Full-Time Police Officer

Qualified persons are invited to apply to the Borough of Hollidaysburg Civil Service Commission to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time Patrolman for the Hollidaysburg Police Department.
General Requirements
Possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED)
Be Act 120 Certified under the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Act (Act 120), or have successfully completed Act 120 Training and passed the final exam, thus being eligible for Act 120 Certification once hired by the Borough
Be a United States Citizen
Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer
Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
Possess a valid motor vehicle license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Successful applicants must establish a principal residence within thirty (30) air miles of the Borough of Hollidaysburg within twelve (12) months after completing a twelve (12) month probationary period
Must meet all the requirements of the Borough's Civil Service Rules and Regulations, including a background investigation, and if selected, successfully pass a physical and psychological examination
Salary/Compensation Starting salary 2026: $60,715 for the first six months, $63,252 for the second six months and $66,934 starting the second year
Vested after 12 years of completed service. Retirement: 25/55 (Years/Age) 50% of last 3 years
