Role Description
Full‑time on‑site role for Designer at Clare V.'s Studio in Los Angeles, CA. The Designer will be responsible for assisting in the design of handbags and small leather goods, creating sketches/CADs/tech packs/line sheets, and ensuring product quality and brand consistency.
Responsibilities
Follows through on designs from initial direction/inspiration to final sample. Creates and executes the vision of the Creative Director and direction from Design Director, ensuring that product is consistent with brand vision.
Responsible for cads, generating and updating tech packs/specs, and ensuring product is designed to meet customer needs while adhering to development timelines.
Responsible for line sheet updates, and line sheet design details (sketches, names, and materials).
Works closely with Designers and Design Director to manage the entire tech pack process; partners closely with PD & Production partners.
Supports team in preparation for major milestone meetings including Sketch Review, First Design Review (FDR) and Market Presentations.
Communicates sample arrival timelines and alerts the team of any late or pending items. Manages sample coordination and organization for the Design team.
Attends weekly Design team & PD team meetings.
Respectful and maintains positive, productive cross‑functional relationships.
Effectively manages up, and has the ability to self‑direct and problem solve.
Communicates effectively, demonstrates curiosity, and takes initiative.
Demonstrates a strong design perspective while also seeking out other opinions; actively participates in maintaining a collaborative, kind, creative team environment.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
5+ years of relevant industry experience designing and developing handbags/accessories
Exceptional communication, time management & organizational skills
Expert level knowledge of leather and materials, handbag construction and techniques
Ability to work collaboratively and take creative direction
Attention to detail and a passion for fashion design
Demonstrated proficiency in Illustrator and PhotoShop; strong sketching and illustration skills
Expert level understanding of full cycle of design development process from concept to commercialization
Understanding of Clare V. brand aesthetic and lifestyle
