POSITION SUMMARY The Territory Executive is responsible for identifying leads, proactively prospecting, and selling new and profitable business within an assigned market that is typically outside of a metropolitan area. The position requires selling the full suite of Republic Services products, including small and large containers for municipal solid waste and recycling, as well as electronic and universal recycling. The Territory Executive meets regularly with new and existing clients in the assigned market area to deliver sales presentations, follow up with key decision makers, and sell all services, including total waste stream management solutions, as appropriate.
Principal Responsibilities
Identify viable leads, manage prospects, and acquire new, profitable commercial, industrial, and recycling business to meet and exceed monthly revenue targets.
Effectively maintain and retain existing customers by building long‑term relationships and customer loyalty.
Follow up on leads received by Lead Generators within two hours and create follow‑up tasks in Salesforce.
Perform contractual re‑signs on existing customers to extend relationships and increase profitability.
Respond to all cancellation requests in alignment with the established escalation policy.
Proactively communicate or respond to customers to support company pricing initiatives.
Use Salesforce daily to schedule, document all activities, and develop robust profiles of prospective customers.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations to new and existing clients; follow up with key decision makers to close sales.
Complete regularly scheduled phone blocks and cold‑call prospecting activities to establish initial and follow‑up appointments with decision‑makers.
Capture customer emails and minimize rate restrictions and customer credits.
Maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends to anticipate changing customer needs.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the company’s services, lines of business, and pricing structures; offer additional services to existing and potential clients, including total waste stream management solutions, to grow targeted revenue.
Complete required Customer Service Agreements, reports, and other paperwork in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy.
Review weekly customer retention activities with Sales Manager to monitor progress versus goals.
Build relationships and increase company visibility through participation in company‑sponsored activities, trade shows, and community events.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned or apparent.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum five years of relevant sales experience.
Minimum two years of direct selling experience in a customer‑facing role that includes identifying and addressing customer needs.
Waste or service industry experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Pay Range $68,300.00 to $93,950.00 – actual range depends on locality.
Bonus Plan Details (if Applicable) Sales Commission Target: 40% Annual.
