About the Team The HII Corporate Strategy & Development team drives enterprise strategy, including annual planning, partnerships, growth strategies, market & defense budget assessments, and mergers & acquisitions. It works across nearly all business disciplines to deliver strategic direction to leaders, customers, and shareholders.
Responsibilities
Conduct U.S. defense budget and global defense market analysis (market segmentation, sizing, forecasting, trend analysis).
Manage cross‑functional teams and collaborate across business units to support development and execution of business capture and growth strategies.
Drive the enterprise strategy process, annual strategic plan, and quarterly strategic reviews.
Perform primary and secondary source research using industry databases, trade news, company reports, government data, and other relevant sources.
Conduct market, competitor, and customer research; model and assess risk for strategy and M&A diligence projects.
Develop and execute strategic initiatives, business assessments, and partnership strategies.
Translate complex ideas into clear, data‑driven narratives for executive stakeholders.
Prepare presentations for the Board of Directors, executive leadership, and investor audiences.
Collaborate with global HII stakeholders—including finance, technology, business development, and division units.
Support the M&A due diligence process.
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; or Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have
Experience in aerospace, defense, government services, or shipbuilding industries.
Prior experience in corporate strategy, strategy consulting, or management consulting.
Deep knowledge of the U.S. defense budget, defense market, and competitive landscape (especially shipbuilding and government services & tech markets).
Demonstrated skills creating presentation deliverables, designing Excel‑based financial and/or market models, and conducting budget and market analysis.
Strong project management skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
