Commercial Relationship Manager

Overview We are seeking an experienced
Commercial Relationship Manager
to grow and manage a portfolio of middle‑market commercial clients with a strong emphasis on
core deposit growth, treasury management solutions, and prudent credit origination . This role is relationship-driven and production-oriented, ideal for a banker who excels at full‑relationship banking and balancing deposit, lending, and risk objectives.
The position is primarily focused on
gathering operating deposits and originating new commercial loans , while maintaining a safe, sound, and profitable portfolio for the Bank.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, develop, and expand new and existing commercial relationships with a strong focus on
primary operating deposits, liquidity balances, and treasury management services
Proactively prospect, interview, and onboard commercial clients seeking full‑relationship banking solutions, including
deposits, cash management, payments, and credit
Manage and grow a commercial portfolio with accountability for
deposit growth, treasury management penetration, loan production, portfolio quality, and relationship profitability
Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and operating activity to assess
creditworthiness, deposit potential, and overall relationship risk
Structure and originate commercial loans that support client operating needs while reinforcing
deposit balances and treasury service utilization
Prepare and present credit requests and recommendations in accordance with Bank policies; communicate approvals and declinations to clients
Coordinate closely with internal partners including
Treasury Management, Credit, Operations, and Legal
to ensure accurate structuring and execution of loan and deposit documentation
Monitor loan performance, covenant compliance, and overall relationship health; proactively address exceptions or deteriorating trends
Oversee the end‑to‑end relationship onboarding and loan origination process while continuously identifying opportunities to deepen relationships
Build a well‑diversified, profitable portfolio that supports the Bank’s
asset quality, funding stability, and non‑interest income goals
Represent the Bank in the local market through participation in business and nonprofit organizations aligned with the Bank’s
CRA and community engagement strategy

Qualifications
Proven success generating
core commercial deposits
and new loan production
Strong experience managing commercial relationships and credit risk
Ability to structure loans and treasury solutions that support full‑relationship banking
Established or transferable Houston‑area business network strongly preferred
Strong financial analysis, underwriting, and relationship management skills
Collaborative approach with internal credit, treasury, and operations partners
