About The Role Uber's Business Development team incubates, develops and manages strategic partnerships across Uber's Mobility and Delivery business units that unlock outsized value today and for many years to come. As a Senior Strategy & Planning Associate, you will play a key role in driving business development strategy and execution forward by evaluating strategic business opportunities, analyzing and tracking partnerships, leading the team's planning initiatives, leading deal and team reporting, and assisting in deal structuring. This role fulfills a key business partner function within the organization, working to ensure transparency of key information across our broad portfolio of partnerships and initiatives, distill business insights to shape an informed strategy, champion effective growth investments, and enable organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and strategic skills, excellent time-management and organizational habits, experience navigating and influencing a cross‑functional, matrix organization, and the ability to clearly communicate and present information to senior stakeholders. We’re looking for someone who can zoom out to set a vision and solve problems from 30,000 feet, as well as zoom in to dive deep into the details. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Global Strategy & Planning for Business Development.

What You'll Do

Be a resourceful multitasker, supporting verticals across BD and select global programs (e.g., hailables). You’ll be the go‑to person for many key organization initiatives requiring cross‑functional collaboration.

Partner with deal leads to determine deal strategy, including using your financial modeling skills to understand how different structures will impact Uber and partner goals. Drive analysis on important strategic decisions to propel the business forward.

Distill large volumes of information and present them back to the business in the form of succinct business insights.

Drive team accountability by managing the deal pipeline and review process, including deal approvals and deal performance tracking and reporting.

Ensure deals serve company strategy, accounting for risk appropriately, monitoring competitive developments, identifying KPIs, and estimating financial impacts.

Launch and manage tools and processes that are foundational to the operation of the org.

Serve as a thought partner to various Business Development deal leads.

Set governance processes, manage rhythm and cadence of operations for the entire business.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum 5 years of analytical or strategy experience

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in Strategy Consulting

SQL expertise – know how to access, interpret and package data so our team can deliver outstanding and innovative analysis to better our operations

Strong oral and written communication skills

Familiarity collaborating with and presenting to senior executives

Excellent analytical thinking – you connect the dots between the data and operations and gut check every number you see

Exceptional storytelling abilities. Ability to craft a story out of very few as well as billions of data points

Strong internal track record of working cross‑functionally with an ability to challenge and influence various partners across organizations

An ability to synthesize information quickly, to distill key takeaways, and to weave insights into a compelling story that clarifies and inspires.

An ability to build deep relationships across a broad organization, foster a fun and collaborative work environment, and understand problems from diverse perspectives. Humility and empathy are critical to success in this role.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year – USD$143,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range is the same. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber’s bonus program and may be offered an equity award and other types of compensation. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
