We are looking for a skilled and highly organized legal secretary to join a dynamic plaintiff personal injury practice in Oakland, California. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal procedures, case management, and trial preparation, with a focus on supporting attorneys through efficient and detail-oriented administrative tasks. This role requires excellent multitasking skills and a proactive approach to managing case files from intake to trial. Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Handle intake processes and organize medical records for ongoing cases. Prepare and file legal documents electronically, adhering to court deadlines and procedures. Maintain and update calendars, scheduling hearings, deadlines, and client meetings. Support discovery processes, including gathering information and drafting responses. Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating logistics. Manage dictation and transcription tasks with precision and timeliness. Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and other legal professionals. Utilize case management software to track deadlines and ensure compliance with California legal protocols. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant. Proficiency in electronic filing and court document preparation. Strong skills in calendar management and deadline tracking under California rules. Familiarity with personal injury case procedures and discovery processes. Experience with case management software and legal technology tools. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining high attention to detail.
