About the Position: Our SBA Loan Underwriter will have experience in 7(a) underwriting in a variety of industries and transaction types. They will analyze, underwrite and facilitate SBA 7(a) loans in a fast-paced team atmosphere.

What You Will Do:

Demonstrate and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the SBA SOP as well as knowledge of various SBA programs

Understand what differentiatesPort 51 Lending from our competitors and demonstrate our unique approach to small business lending in all aspects of their work with borrowers, colleagues and partners

Review and analyze financial packages for completeness, SBA program eligibility and creditworthiness and follow the credit through its life cycle

Demonstrate strong credit underwriting skills by producing clear, correct, concise and thorough Loan Reports

Engage and review appropriate third-party reports

Communicate proactively and constructively with the customer as well as business development, closing and servicing colleagues to achieve appropriate deliverables

Contribute to the company’s overall production, portfolio performance and reputation while striving to meet or exceed individual goals

Apply state of the art technologies to support best in class service

Ensure that all activities and work functions follow compliance requirements and SBA regulations

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or other acceptable related experience

Minimum of 5 years SBA 7(a) credit underwriting experience

Maintain confidentiality of company and client information

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Proficiency with personal computers and software applications

Ability to travel

Outstanding collaboration skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Interpersonal skills to interact positively and effectively with all levels of employees, management, and third parties

Possess excellent multi-tasking skills

Capability of working effectively under limited supervision

Ability to identify issues and opportunities and explore solutions

Ability to meet strict timelines and service level agreements

Strong PC skills required along with an ability to quickly learn new systems

Ability to work effectively in a remote setting

Working Conditions/Demands:

Remote setting.

Primarily a sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer.

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
