Tax Manager

Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead complex engagements, deliver high-quality client service, and support the growth of our tax practice. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys mentoring staff, developing strong client relationships, and solving challenging tax issues across a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and review complex tax engagements, including individual, corporate, partnership, and trust returns

Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients, providing proactive tax planning and advisory guidance

Lead, develop, and mentor staff and senior accountants through coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback

Conduct technical research on complex tax matters and provide clear, actionable recommendations

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while maintaining firm quality standards

Oversee project timelines, budgets, and workflow to ensure successful and timely delivery of services

Build and strengthen client relationships, identifying opportunities for expanded services

Participate in business development activities, proposal efforts, and networking initiatives as needed

Stay current with changes in tax law and contribute to internal knowledge sharing

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or related field

CPA license required

5+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including experience in a reviewer role

Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation

Excellent communication skills — able to simplify complex concepts for clients and staff

Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing engagement teams

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency with tax preparation and research software
