Pay range is $80-110K

Position Summary To foster an engaged, productive, and positive workplace, this role proactively manages employee relations matters and administers timely and compliant accommodations and leave programs. This role is responsible for handling all aspects of the leave of absence and accommodations processes, including ensuring the company complies with federal and state leave and accommodation laws (e.g., ADA and FMLA) and various state paid family leave laws, leading the interactive process and leaves of absences, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and designing and delivering training programs on leaves of absence and accommodations. In addition, this is a key role in employee relations, and includes conducting complex workplace investigations, resolving disputes, providing guidance to managers regarding performance communications, delivering coaching and discipline (including terminations), developing policies, analyzing trends to foster a productive and compliant work environment, and designing and delivering training programs on employee relations topics.

Responsibilities Employee Relations

Investigate employee complaints and conflicts

Conduct interviews, gather evidence, and write investigation reports with recommendations for action, which may include carrying out training or disciplinary action

Provide guidance and consultative support to employees and management on employee relations matters, including investigations

Leave of Absence Management

Oversee all aspects of employee leaves (such as FMLA, state-specific leaves, and short and long-term disability), including communications and maintenance of accurate leave records

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and company policies

Provide consultation to managers, HR, and employees on leave-related issues and best practices

Workplace Accommodations

Facilitate the interactive process under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Analyze accommodation requests and collaborate with Senior Director of HR on complex matters

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local accommodation laws and company policies

Provide consultation to managers, HR, and employees on accommodation-related issues and best practices

Other Duties

Oversee the implementation and use of case management and HRIS systems to improve efficiency and tracking of leave, accommodations, and employee relations matters

Develop and implement company policies and procedures for employee relations and leave management

Analyze data from exit interviews, absenteeism, and engagement scores to recommend data-driven solutions to seize company opportunities and address organizational challenges

Model the Company’s values to influence others to perform in an aligned manner.

Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Intermediate or advanced knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR or other related field

Extensive experience in employee relations and leave management, with a focus on managing complex matters and conducting investigations

In-depth knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, Title VII, and similar/related federal and state regulations

Advanced degree or certifications preferred
