Senior Investigator – Adams County Government

The Office seeks a Senior Investigator to advance this mission.
Job Location Adams County, Colorado
Overview A Senior Investigator performs a variety of semi-complex and complex investigations of felony and misdemeanor crimes for the Office of the District Attorney and handles other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Investigate, prepare and file complex criminal cases; conduct advanced high-level investigations of already filed cases.
Author search warrants, production of records requests and other affidavits; identify investigative gaps and enhance investigations.
Interview victims, witnesses and law enforcement personnel; build rapport and demonstrate empathy.
Work on the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) and conduct interviews of responders associated with investigations.
Establish and maintain working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, attorneys, witnesses, victims and law enforcement agencies.
Serve as a lead investigator for investigations where a law enforcement agency lacks resources or experience.
Prepare and conduct presentations for senior level executives and command staff outlining investigative progress.
Maintain a high work ethic and handle a high volume of labor-intensive cases professionally.
Demonstrate a commitment to victims of crime and provide victims with empathy and integrity.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years prior law‑enforcement experience, or 5 years investigative experience with equivalent law‑enforcement experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of civil and criminal law, law‑enforcement principles, statutes and ordinances applicable in Colorado.
Valid Colorado Driver’s License, Colorado Peace Officer certification and marksman qualification.
State law physical examination and psychological evaluation required.
Ability to read, write and speak Spanish is desirable.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Work generally confined to an office environment or the field; may require extended hours and respond to potentially hazardous situations.
Stood, stooped, bent, twisted, lifted up to 50 lbs., and performed other physical tasks as required.
