Freelance Technical Designer Shapewear and Intimates
We are hiring a Technical Designer for a top fashion intimates company in NYC. This position requires a minimum of 5‑7+ years of experience in Technical Design of intimate apparel and shapewear. This is a 3 month contract.
Hourly pay range is $45.00–48.00 per hour based on experience.
Location: New York, NY
Responsibilities
Individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit.
Analyze and evaluate garments to develop the correct fit specifications.
Ensure that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications.
Develop technical specifications and communicate fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections.
Make appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure integrity of design approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price.
Typically report to Technical Services Manager.
Typically direct Assistants or Associate Technical Designers.
Required Qualifications
5‑7+ years experience in technical design with intimates/apparel.
Experience with fittings, write‑up of fit comments & pattern correction, completed centric training, and proficiency with Excel, Illustrator, Flex PLM etc.
Bachelor's degree in Fashion or equivalent experience.
