Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Truss Designer
to join a growing and well‑established building materials team in
Patterson, California . The role focuses on designing and engineering roof truss systems for residential, multi‑family, and light commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design and engineer roof truss systems in compliance with building codes and industry standards.
Perform plan checks and quality control reviews of truss layouts, profiles, and calculations.
Collaborate with internal design teams and project managers to develop efficient and cost‑effective truss solutions.
Utilize ITW software for truss modeling, analysis, and documentation (MiTek experience preferred).
Review architectural, structural, and shop drawings to identify and resolve design conflicts.
Communicate with engineers, contractors, and internal teams to support projects from design through completion.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in roof truss design.
Proven experience with plan checking, design reviews, and quality control.
Proficiency in ITW software preferred; MiTek experience a strong plus.
Solid understanding of building codes, structural principles, and residential construction practices.
Experience with single‑family and multi‑family projects; commercial experience is a plus.
Ability to produce accurate truss designs, layouts, and technical documentation.
Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred but not required.
