The Accountant Controller – Controlling & Tax professional supports financial controlling, local regulatory compliance, IFRS reporting, and payroll management activities (US, with backup for selected EMEA entities). This role works under the guidance of the Finance Manager and collaborates with other finance team members to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of financial processes.
Tasks and Duties
Support planning, coordination and quality assurance in accounting
Assist in ensuring applicable laws and regulations are followed
Responsible for compliance projects for assigned legal entities
Preparation of IFRS entries
Accruals Taxes
IFRS Journals
Assist in developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Assist in organizing and ensuring accuracy of global Transfer Pricing bookings
Manage and comply with local government reporting requirements and tax filings in a timely manner for assigned entities and projects (sales tax/VAT, income tax, WH tax, payroll tax)
Collaborate with other finance stakeholders to encourage audit preparedness
Assist in evaluating insurance coverage to ensure proper risk mitigation
Manage local statutory reporting requirements for assigned legal entities
Manage year end disclosure package for assigned legal entities
Ensure board minutes and other regulatory requirements are satisfied for assigned legal entities (assisted by legal department in house or external)
Support with HR related tasks
Process monthly payroll for employees
Additional duties as assigned by the Finance Manager-Controlling
Qualifications
Bachelor/ master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or any relevant field
3-5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
Prior working experience in qualified accounting AND tax role
Subject matter expert in US GAAP and IFRS required
Skills on US sales tax required
Experience with corporate tax or a tax partner in US
Thorough knowledge of local accounting principles and procedures
Working under International team is preferred
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Flexible in their approach, with the ability to multi-task
Confident, proactive, self‑motivated and able to work without supervision
Ability to adapt to time zone difference as back up EMEA team will be required
Analytical abilities, attention to details and aptitude in problem‑solving
Willing to be ‘hands‑on’ and get truly involved
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages preferably Microsoft Business Central
Proficient in English
