The Opportunity Alpha Inc. is seeking Heavy Civil Laborers who take pride in their craft, respect the crew they work with, and want to build a long-term career in civil construction.
These positions will support major water infrastructure improvement projects and heavy civil infrastructure projects across. It is a field-forward position requiring physical capability, situational awareness, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

What You’ll Do As a Heavy Civil Laborer at Alpha Inc., you will support civil construction and underground utility operations under the direction of a Foreman. Depending on experience and capability, responsibilities may include:
Loading, unloading, transporting, and staging materials, tools, and equipment
Digging trenches, leveling ground, and assisting with excavation and backfill
Supporting installation of stormwater, sewer, and water utilities
Cleaning and maintaining jobsites and equipment to eliminate hazards
Operating hand tools and light equipment such as tampers, rollers, and skid loaders
Flagging traffic and supporting work‑zone safety
Communicating clearly with crew members to maintain safe and efficient operations
More experienced laborers may also:
Assist with pipe alignment, bedding, and grade checks
Support equipment operators during lifting and placement activities
Work independently on routine tasks with minimal supervision
This is hands‑on, production‑driven work — and your skill directly impacts the success of the project.
What It Takes to Be an “A Player” Here We’re not training from zero. We’re leveling up professionals.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves – Laborer I & II Level)
At least foundational experience in civil construction or a strong willingness to learn in a physically demanding environment
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform work involving bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in trenches
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
Strong commitment to jobsite safety and following direction
Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and team‑oriented mindset
Clear communication skills and respect for the chain of command
A valid Driver’s License and clean driving record are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves – Laborer III Capabilities) The following experience is not required, but will be viewed as a strong differentiator and may support placement at a higher pay rate:
Three or more years of civil construction experience with a focus on underground utilities
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and layouts
Experience installing PVC, HDPE, and ductile iron pipe
Proficiency with pipe lasers, trench boxes, saws, and specialized utility tools
Experience performing hydrostatic or air pressure testing
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior laborers and lead by example on site
OSHA 10 or other relevant safety certifications
