Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, Mankato, Minnesota, United States, 56006
Community Coordinator (Volunteer) – Mankato, MN
Spark community. Build connection. Create belonging.
MNeurodivergent is seeking a passionate and organized
Community Coordinator
to lead our volunteer-driven efforts in
Mankato . This is a meaningful volunteer opportunity to help establish a thriving, inclusive social network for neurodivergent adults in your region.
As a Community Coordinator, you'll be the driving force behind bringing our mission to life locally. You'll coordinate monthly meetups—from casual coffee chats and board game nights to museum outings and creative workshops. You’ll also recruit and support other volunteers, connect with local venues, and make sure every event is welcoming, safe, and affirming.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and host 1–2 monthly events that foster connection among neurodivergent adults
Scout and secure accessible, sensory-considerate venues in the Mankato area
Promote events through online platforms, local calendars, and social channels
Welcome attendees and set a positive, inclusive tone at each event
Recruit and manage volunteers for co-hosting, set‑up, and outreach tasks
Act as the main liaison between the Mankato area and the MNeurodivergent leadership team
What We’re Looking For
A community‑mindful individual who is reliable, proactive, and organized
Someone who identifies as neurodivergent or is passionate about neurodiversity inclusion
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Event planning experience is a bonus—but not required!
Time Commitment Approx. 4–6 hours per month, including planning, communication, and attending events. Scheduling is flexible and designed to fit your life.
Why This Role Matters Many neurodivergent adults in Mankato are looking for connection—but don’t have access to spaces that feel safe, understanding, and fun. With your leadership, MNeurodivergent can change that. You’ll be creating opportunities for people to meet, make friends, and feel truly seen.
What You’ll Gain
Leadership and event planning experience
Deepened community connections
Ongoing support, training, and mentorship from MNeurodivergent
The joy of helping others find their people
We only need one person to bring MNeurodivergent to Mankato—could it be you?
