Job Summary In this role you will help sustain Mennel’s tradition of excellence established in 1886 by supporting our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. The Sales & Pricing Analyst plays a critical role in driving profitability through data‑driven pricing strategies, sales analytics, and margin optimization, supporting the Sales Operations and Leadership teams in achieving financial and strategic goals.
Primary Work Shift Monday through Friday 8AM – 5PM; may vary depending on workload. Works shift as assigned and overtime as required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, GFSI, FDA FSMA, and sanitation guidelines; maintain the department/facility in audit‑ready condition.
Develop and maintain pricing models for flour, bulk, and specialty products, integrating cost inputs from procurement and operations.
Monitor commodity trends and collaborate with the grain team to translate cost fluctuations into flour pricing adjustments.
Analyze sales data to identify trends, customer behavior patterns, and growth opportunities.
Partner with Business Unit Leaders and Account Managers to assess margin performance by account, product, and region.
Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations summarizing key performance indicators for leadership review.
Support contract pricing reviews, bids, and renewals, ensuring alignment with profitability goals.
Work with Marketing and Business Development to align pricing with market positioning and competitive benchmarks.
Serve as a liaison between Sales Administration, Finance, and Operations to ensure accuracy in pricing setup and billing processes.
Continuously improve reporting and analytics tools for better visibility and decision making.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory duties.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in pricing, sales analysis, or financial analysis, ideally within manufacturing, agriculture, or commodities.
Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and ERP/CRM systems (Dynamics 365 preferred).
Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Experience translating data into actionable commercial recommendations.
Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable presenting insights to senior leadership.
Success Metrics
Pricing accuracy and margin improvement.
Timeliness and quality of analytics reporting.
Contribution to sales forecasting accuracy.
Support provided to Sales, Finance, and Business Development teams in pricing strategy execution.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans; ability to write, complete checklists, and other basic documentation; ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability Must use solid judgment when making decisions and recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.
Physical Demands Regularly stand; walk; use hands for maintenance tasks, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; occasionally lift or move up to 50 lb. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment Typical office environment. Regular exposure to conditions typical of an office setting.
