Position Summary
APMP isseekingan experienced, service-oriented Manager, Events & Sponsorships, to lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of APMP’s events and sponsorship programs. Reporting to APMP’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) and working in close collaboration with APMP’s Event Coordinator, this role manages the full lifecycle of in-person and virtual events while also handling sponsor recruitment, fulfillment, and relationships to ensure an exceptional experience. Working collaboratively with APMP staff, volunteers, vendors, and sponsors, this individual will serve as a strategic and operational leader by setting direction, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring the highest level of service. This role suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings strong judgment and accountability to complex projects, and balances operational excellence with relationship-building and revenue generation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervisory Responsibilities None
Events Strategy, Planning, and Execution
Lead the end-to-end planning, management, production, and execution of all APMP events, in-person and virtual.
Develop detailed event project plans, timelines, and workflows; manage deadlines and dependencies to ensure successful execution.
Oversee all event logistics, including but not limited to registration, rooming lists, audiovisual, food and beverage, exhibits/sponsorships, technology platforms, vendors, and on-site and/or virtual operations.
Facilitate speaker selection processes, including the call for presenters, sourcing for additional speakers, collecting and organizing session submissions, and supporting committees in evaluating sessions for final agenda selections.
Lead the development of event agendas, session structures, and programming timelines to ensure high-quality attendee experiences.
Coordinate speaker onboarding, preparation, and readiness, including presentation guidelines, deadlines, rehearsal schedules, and logistics.
Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to support agenda, speaker, and event promotion.
Serve as the primary operational lead during events, addressing issues in real time and ensuring a professional, seamless experience including but not limited to attendees, sponsors, and exhibitors.
Conduct and analyze post-event data, including attendee, sponsor and exhibitor feedback, financial performance, and other metrics to provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
Sponsorships, Exhibits, and Relationship Management
Lead efforts to secure sponsors for all APMP events and programs, working collaboratively to align sponsorship offerings with APMP’s goals.
Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors and exhibitors, building strong, professional relationships and ensuring a high-touch, service-oriented experience.
Manage sponsorship contracts, invoicing, fulfillment, and recognition across events and year-round programs.
Coordinate sponsor and exhibitor deliverables, and deadlines across digital, print, onsite, and promotional channels.
Identify, develop, and recommend new sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities to continue to grow.
Oversee onsite sponsor and exhibitor needs, including setup, engagement, troubleshooting, and teardown.
Maintain accurate sponsor and exhibitor records in APMP systems and databases.
Financial Management
Work with the COO to develop, manage, and monitor event and sponsorship budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with revenue goals.
Support vendor selection, contracting, and negotiation, seeking cost efficiencies without compromising quality.
Review invoices and reconcile expenses in coordination with the COO.
Position Details Location: Remote (US-based– VA, IL, SC, FL, CO, AL, WV, IN preferred)
Travel: 10–15%

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hospitality and sponsorship management, preferably in associations/nonprofits.
Demonstrated experience leading events and managing sponsor and exhibitor relationships.
A Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong project management, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail and consistently delivers high-quality work.
Experience managing budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently in a remote work environment, drive initiatives to completion, and implement process improvements.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively.
Experience with event management systems, Association Management Systems (AMS) and Microsoft Office or similar tools.
Willingness to travel and work evenings or weekends as required by event schedules.
