We are currently seeking a self‑starter, goal‑oriented, successful sales professional to fill the role of Business Development Specialist in our Louisville, KY region. As a Business Development Specialist, your goal is to express ideas in a way that will build rapport with our current and new customers. You will help build new customer relationships and assist in managing key customer “partnerships” for long‑term business growth and success.
Responsibilities
Develop new business accounts to secure major construction contracts
Utilize strategic account planning and sales pipeline management tools
Follow a proven sales process that includes prospecting, qualifying, targeting, identifying customer needs, developing value propositions, presenting solutions and alternatives, and closing the sale for future construction project opportunities
Work collaboratively with the Business Development team to create and implement strategic plans to generate business opportunities which result in achieved revenue objectives for the Louisville region
Participate in industry and community organizations
Continuously grow and develop your skills to lead project teams in selling high‑end conceptual services to executive‑level managers and buyers of large corporations and agencies
Make decisions based on Messer's long‑term growth philosophy and core values
Qualifications
1‑3 years of business development/sales experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction or related field
Ability to work non‑traditional hours
Business and community relationships in the Louisville area
Knowledge/experience in a construction related industry
Knowledge of health care, higher education, life sciences and industrial markets is a plus
Formal sales training experience with client management (CRM) software
Proven track record developing business and long‑term client relations
