Account Manager – Building Envelope Products
A leading manufacturer in the building materials industry is seeking a motivated
Account Manager
to grow and manage our network of distributors throughout the
North West region (Colorado, Utah, Northern California, etc) . This role is focused on expanding the reach of our
Building Envelope product line , supporting existing channel partners, and developing new distributor relationships that align with our strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in
distribution sales within the construction or building materials industry , strong presentation skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with distributors, contractors, builders, and design professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Distributor Relationship Management
– Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing distributors through regular communication, on‑site visits, and joint business planning.
Growth & Performance Reviews
– Conduct quarterly reviews with distributor partners to assess performance, identify opportunities, and align marketing and sales strategies.
New Business Development
– Identify and evaluate new distribution opportunities within the region to fill strategic gaps and drive market coverage.
Distributor Onboarding
– Lead onboarding efforts for new partners, including product training, pricing setup, and launch coordination.
Training & Education
– Deliver technical product presentations and training sessions for distributor sales teams; support continuing education initiatives with architects, consultants, and specifiers to increase brand awareness and product adoption; conduct hands‑on training events with builders and contractors in collaboration with distribution partners.
Market Intelligence
– Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market shifts within the Building Envelope space.
Collaboration & Support
– Work closely with internal product management and marketing teams to coordinate regional promotions, support new product introductions, and ensure alignment of channel strategy.
CRM & Reporting
– Maintain detailed account and pipeline information in the company’s CRM system, and provide regular updates on sales performance and market activity.
Qualifications
Minimum
3 years of sales experience
in
building materials, construction products, or a related industry .
Proven background in
distribution or channel sales , with the ability to manage multiple accounts and complex relationships.
Strong presentation and training experience; ability to communicate technical product information clearly to diverse audiences.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Highly organized, self‑motivated, and capable of managing a
large, multi‑state territory
independently.
Proficient in CRM systems and basic reporting tools.
Willingness to travel regionally ( 50–70% ).
