This
Sales Category Manager- Trailer and towing
position is responsible providing your client with customer focused insights regarding the product and category. Creating and developing a long term plan and strategy for development of the category.
Preferred Experience
Education/Certification(s):
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent of years in experience
Experience:
Job related experience within specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Training:
Minimum of one month on the job training required.
Requirements
Solid knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles
Knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
An ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
Strong communication and team management skills
Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude

Duties
Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services
Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility
Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category
Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories
Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category
Assists with the planning of sales exhibits.
Attends trade shows.
Participates in education and training conferences on selling and marketing programs.
Coordinates and assists in leading sales meetings to include site selection and agenda preparation.
Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers.
Checks on competitive activity and develops new methods of attaining resellers and assisting resellers in attaining new accounts.
Manage a team of salespeople and ensure company standards are upheld
