General Function Responsible for developing and executing the marketing and communications strategy for Hy-Vee, Inc. retail locations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Expert knowledge of traditional marketing, including but not limited to, television, radio, newspaper and direct mail, along with event marketing and other guerilla marketing tactics.

Organizes and executes various marketing promotions in alignment with corporate office.

Oversees the implementation of the company’s brand strategies and corporate marketing initiatives.

Communicates strategy, objectives and goals effectively with retail leadership teams.

Works with Regional Marketing Manager to build local sponsorships and community programs.

Responsible for pre-event planning and day of event execution for various community and sponsorship related events.

Reports on effectiveness and outcomes of promotions and campaigns on as needed basis to Regional Marketing Manager.

Prepare marketing activity reports and metrics for measuring program and campaign success.

Maintains a detailed content calendar in alignment with corporate office and regional stores.

Assists and approves the development of local advertising and placement.

Assists with Merchandising recommendations and execution for the region.

Communicates budgetary needs to Regional Marketing Manager.

Acts as spokesperson for the region for various media outlets as directed by Regional Marketing Manager.

Manages and assists with responses to customer service inquiries via email and social media.

Maintains Hy-Vee brand in all forms of marketing and advertising in alignment with corporate standards.

Performs consumer research and adapts content, placement and creative for best performance.

Stays informed about the market, industry trends, and the competitive landscape, while helping strategize and implement marketing, branding, and advertising plans.

Educates and trains store employees on traditional marketing best practices.

Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Ability to interact with basic computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheet and email applications, as well as job-specific programs.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related area, or equivalent work experience preferred. Proficiency with traditional marketing, including radio, television, newspaper, direct mail, out of home, CTV/OTT and event marketing preferred. Five years of similar or related work experience.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to physically perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions The duties for this position are normally conducted in an office environment. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.

Equipment Used to Perform Job Standard office equipment including telephone, 10-key calculator, copier, fax, PC/Mac with word processing and spreadsheet software.

Contacts Has daily contact with corporate office and stores, suppliers/vendors, and the general public.

Confidentiality Has access to confidential information including knowledge of marketing tactics, advertising rates, pricing information, and store sales.
