Job Summary The Floating Maintenance Technicians maintain the upkeep of the building, fixtures and residential spaces of the property. They work with attention to detail in order to ensure the property is in top condition. If you have effective time management, a positive attitude, and construction knowledge, you are an ideal candidate. They will be sent to properties within a portfolio that are short staffed or that need to assist on specific projects.
Classification Full-Time, Hourly/Non-Exempt
Shift Tues‑Sat 9 am‑6 pm, work on‑call as scheduled, weekend shifts, and overtime as necessary.
Compensation $20‑$23 per hour, eligible for monthly commissions and quarterly bonuses.
Essential Duties
Respond to resident/management service requests for occupied and vacant units
Repair/replace appliances, plumbing and air conditioning/heating/electrical systems as needed
Identify and perform routine preventative maintenance assignments
Inspect and repair vacant units and prepare for move‑ins
Work on‑call as scheduled, weekend shifts, and overtime as necessary and approved by manager
Perform tasks and operate machinery safely and in compliance with safety procedures
Complete grounds work, such as grounds pick up, sweeping and light landscaping
Perform other duties as requested to support property operations
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Minimum two years’ general residential maintenance experience
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and energy management systems
Certifications/licenses as required by local, state, or other regulations
Ability to work on‑call as scheduled and work weekends and afterhours as necessary (Tuesday‑Saturday schedule)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to multiple sites within Bay Area portfolio
Preferred
Bilingual or multilingual skills
