Performs a variety of food and guest service duties under general supervision. This position includes patient meal tray assembly and delivery, cashier, food assembly, food serving, and cleaning.
Posting Specifics Pay Rate: Based on Experience
Shift Details: Part‑time (24 hrs/wk) Variety of days & shifts. Typical mid‑morning shifts of 10:00am–6:30pm or 11:00am–7:30pm. Rotating weekends and holidays are required.
Department: McKay Dee Hospital Culinary Services
Additional Details: Operate within a high‑volume retail environment characterized by a fast‑paced atmosphere. Must work independently, apply critical thinking, and proactively anticipate evolving café needs. Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service is required.
Qualifications
Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho).
Demonstrated ability to work with modified diets (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service (preferred).
Essential Functions
Delivers and presents trays to patients using the standard process.
Performs food preparation functions according to system standards (e.g., prepares salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit).
Follows standardized practices relating to Nutrition Services (e.g., dining experience, meal delivery, maintaining required stock levels).
Performs housekeeping functions including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment (oven, fryer, hoods).
Performs accurate cash/credit transactions according to system standards and independently resolves basic customer service issues.

Capacity to lift, pull, and push equipment; work on hands and knees, bend to set up, troubleshoot, and carry supplies weighing up to and including heavy items.
Remain standing for long periods.
Tolerate extreme temperatures, work at a grill or refrigerator, and handle cleaning chemicals.
