Position Purpose To identify, develop, oversee, and maintain relationships with key customers and personnel at Home Depot in a manner that maximizes the success of the American Woodmark sell, furnish, and install (SFI) program. The program requires the candidate to sell our products and services to Home Depot Pro customers at the project site to meet or exceed sales budgets while managing expenses to plan for an assigned geographic region.

Education, Experience and Skills

Proven track record in sales with 5 to 7 years of successful new business development experience

Proven 2020 or similar design software skills

Kitchen and Bath experience preferred

Ability to critique and analyze designs

Ability to effectively use tools of the trade (blueprints, tape measure, etc.)

Undergraduate degree: experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Strong Leadership skills

Drive, determination, and discipline of a self-starter

Proven skill in handling sensitive issues and achieving conflict resolution

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Energy and focus to be goal and result oriented

Excellent organization and time management skills

Knowledge of Microsoft windows-based applications

Must have valid driver's license and no record of previous suspensions/revocations within the last 3 years

Cannot have any vehicular offenses that resulted in a criminal conviction or more than 3 moving violations in the last year

Language Skills

Ability to read, and interpret common business documents including technical reports, charts, graphs and diagrams.

Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers/clients, members of the business community and public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret graphs and diagrams.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Essential Functions

Successfully promote the selling of furnish and installation services to Home Depot Pro customers

Measure, design, and price cabinetry and installation services for the customers at the jobsite

Identify, develop, and implement a strategy that results in enhanced relationships between Home Depot and their Pro customers resulting in sales growth for American Woodmark Pro products and services

Develop and manage marketing, travel, and entertaining costs to maximize the growth of territory sales

Diagnose, resolve, and communicate customer concerns and resolutions regarding service and warranty issues

Conduct comparative analysis on competitor designs and quotes to convert potential sales

Gain understanding of competitors within the marketplace and provide reporting back in terms of product, pricing, and promotions

Develop priority selling and effective time management skills to improve productivity and call efficiency

Proven ability to work cross-functionally across other disciplines in and outside of the company

Principle Accountabilities

Conduct jobsite visits for purposes of gaining knowledge of scope, gathering measurements and/or presenting quotes for furnish and install projects

Achievement of sales, expense, and transactional quality budgets

Monitor and act on all territory metric reporting

Development, maintenance, and maximization of quality business relationships with key customers

In-store training and clinics for Home Depot associates and Pro customers to increase awareness and support of the SFI initiative.

Analyze designs and provide feedback for alternative solutions for cost effectiveness

Mediation of service and warranty issues

Align with American Woodmark policies and procedures in performing responsibilities of job

Be a model of the American Woodmark culture

Supervisory Responsibilities This job typically has no supervisory responsibilities.

Scope & Expectations

Reports to: Pro Sales Manager

Travel Requirements and Working Conditions:

Some in and out of town travel; may be required daily depending on territory assignment.

Travel is typically by company car and commercial air carrier.

Out of state travel will be required for quarterly meeting.

Typically, offices will be out of a private home, and hours will vary as necessitated by business.

Recruitment process may consist of any combination of phone, video and in person interviews.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear.

The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds over head.
