Job Description : The Production Coordinator is a critical contributor to the efficient execution of manufacturing operations, serving as a central link between production planning, shop floor activities, and cross‑functional teams. This role oversees daily production coordination, monitors workflow and resource utilization, and actively manages production schedules to ensure on‑time delivery of armored vehicle programs. The Production Coordinator supports the achievement of manufacturing goals by promoting operational efficiency, maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards, and proactively addressing issues that could impact timelines or output.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
Coordinate and oversee daily production floor activities to ensure work orders are executed efficiently and in alignment with established production schedules and delivery commitments.
Track and manage work order progress, including parts movement and shipments, to maintain uninterrupted production flow across departments.
Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production delays, bottlenecks, or disruptions, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain throughput.
Collaborate with Facilities and Engineering teams to support preventative maintenance activities and ensure equipment readiness and operational reliability.
Serve as a primary communication liaison between Production Management, Scheduling, Warehouse/Stockroom, Quality Control, and other cross‑functional teams to align priorities and resolve issues.
Partner with the Stockroom to manage inventory storage requirements, department‑level material needs, and adherence to established min/max inventory levels.
Monitor raw material and component availability, escalating shortages, delivery risks, or supplier delays to appropriate stakeholders to prevent production interruptions.
Maintain accurate and timely production documentation, including output metrics, cycle times, downtime, material usage, and labor hours, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
Support onboarding and orientation of new production team members in coordination with departmental leadership, Engineering, and Quality, ensuring understanding of processes, safety standards, and expectations.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing actionable feedback on production processes, workflows, tooling, fixtures, and quality assurance practices to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
Maintain strict confidentiality and data security related to customer information, product specifications, and proprietary company data.
Exercise sound judgment and discretion in matters affecting company operations and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
Working knowledge of production scheduling, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience in autobody or automotive electrical work is preferred but not required.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels and across departments.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and safety.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Demonstrated commitment to following safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
Ability to successfully pass a pre‑employment physical examination.
Physical capability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds, exert force to pull and move materials.
Ability to perform job duties requiring extended periods of sitting.
