Controls Programmer (Level II or III) – Building Automation – Dallas, TX (Hybrid)
About the Role:
A well-established building automation contractor is seeking a skilled
Controls Programmer
to support projects throughout the Dallas metro. This position is ideal for BAS professionals who want a hybrid schedule (60% remote / 40% field) and enjoy taking full ownership of programming, integration, and commissioning tasks.
Most work is centered around municipal and K-12 facilities, offering steady project flow and a collaborative technical environment. Salary:
$90,000 – $110,000
Schedule:
Hybrid (60% home, 40% field)
Territory:
Primarily Dallas area with minimal travel outside the metro
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and customize BAS programs and front‑end user graphics from the ground up
Visit job sites for commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support
Interpret project specifications, drawings, and system requirements
Create, configure, and validate databases, logic sequences, and control algorithms
Work closely with installation crews and project engineering teams for seamless execution
Perform point‑to‑point checkout, functional testing, and final commissioning activities
Verify system performance and ensure programming meets quality and compliance expectations
Preferred Experience:
3+ years of experience in BAS programming, integration, or similar controls role
Hands‑on experience with
Reliable Controls, Schneider Electric, or Delta
platforms
Strong understanding of BACnet networks, protocols, and device communication
Ability to diagnose issues within software, hardware, or field‑level integrations
Comfortable reading mechanical/electrical drawings and interpreting control designs
