Responsibilities
Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals (Form 1040), partnerships (Form 1065), S corporations (Form 1120‑S), and C corporations (Form 1120).
Meet directly with clients, primarily small business owners, to gather tax‑related information, explain positions, and develop long‑term relationships.
Analyze financial records to ensure accurate tax reporting and full compliance with relevant tax codes.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations, particularly those impacting small businesses.
Collaborate closely with internal accounting and payroll teams to provide integrated client services.
Lead in‑house training sessions on advanced tax strategies and firm procedures in coordination with the CEO.
Take ownership of workload and provide strong hands‑on support to the team, especially during peak tax season.
Qualifications
Active CPA or EA license (required).
Minimum 5 years of tax preparation experience, including business and corporate returns.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required).
Proficiency with QuickBooks and professional tax software (Drake preferred).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong client‑facing abilities.
High attention to detail and solid analytical/problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualities
Eagerness to grow into a leadership position within the firm.
Strong understanding of tax strategy and ability to identify tax‑saving opportunities.
Prior experience serving small business clients or working in a tax/accounting firm.
