Job Title: Media Planner

General Function The Media Planner is a key member of the RedMedia – Hy‑Vee Media Network team. This role is responsible for developing strategic, omni‑channel media plans, leveraging onsite, offsite, and in‑store tactics to drive business results for our brand partners. The Media Planner will work cross‑functionally with Sales, Analytics, Marketing, and e‑commerce to develop audiences, determine products, and ensure proper and timely execution.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement media strategies aligned with marketing objectives and target audience demographics.
Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to optimize media plans.
Maintain relationships with media vendors to ensure competitive pricing and added value opportunities.
Negotiates media buys, pricing, and media placement scheduling with vendors.
Conduct research to identify target audiences and media consumption habits.
Utilize demographic data and market research to refine media strategies.
Monitor and analyze the performance of media campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
Utilize analytics tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
Work closely with creative teams to ensure that ad creatives align with media strategies.
Provide input on ad formats and placements for maximum impact.
Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new media opportunities.
Recommend innovative and effective media solutions to enhance campaigns.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics
Previous experience with Sponsored Products, Onsite Display, Offsite Media, and In‑Store Media
Strong attention to detail
Proficient computer skills including Excel
Exhibits a great attitude with good relationship building skills
Ability to communicate well in written form and verbally
Takes initiative, forward‑thinking, resourceful and curious, with the ability to work across different departments
High degree of internet savvy, with a curiosity and enthusiasm for digital and media trends.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
2-3 years related experience, preferably in an agency or retailer setting
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Familiarity with media planning tools and software.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
Must be able to meet with customers.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions The duties of this position are performed in both field and office settings where there is weekly pressure to meet deadlines.
Equipment Used to Perform Job Laptop and/or desktop computer, telephone, copier, fax, printer, PC with Microsoft Office programs and other software relevant to specific position.
