Overview
Join our dynamic team in San Antonio as a Commercial Construction Superintendent, where you will play a pivotal role in directing and coordinating construction projects. This position demands a keen eye for detail, exemplary leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will oversee all aspects of site operations, leading a talented team to achieve excellence in every project phase.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement and manage on-site logistical operations, including jobsite mobilization, signage, and security. * Oversee material management-receiving, staging, storing, and ensuring timely deliveries for enhanced productivity. * Establish and maintain precise engineering controls. * Lead subcontractor pre-installation and weekly coordination meetings. * Manage the allocation of site utilization and lay down areas to subcontractors. * Continuously assess and fulfill labor, material, and equipment requirements. * Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including environmental and pollution controls. * Collaborate with the Project Manager for accurate and timely material and subcontractor coordination. * Identify and address under-performing subcontractors or team members promptly. * Oversee third-party inspections and manage inspections by the Owner and Design Teams. * Ensure successful completion of all punch lists.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years' related experience or training. * Over 10 years of experience as a project superintendent in commercial public construction. * Proficiency in reading and interpreting legal documents and construction plans. * Expertise in creating and managing CPM schedules. * Capability to perform quantity take-offs and prepare precise manpower and material estimates. * Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods and practices. * Advanced skills in tracking trades for accurate reporting and billing. * Strong understanding of structural shop drawings and MEP systems coordination. * Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Proven ability to manage subcontractors and their scopes of work effectively. * Strong conflict and crisis management capabilities. * Ability to lead and develop a diverse team successfully. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
