About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations to lead a dynamic team in the areas of major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, and alumni engagement. The successful candidate will be a key ambassador, shaping and executing a bold development and alumni relations strategy that aligns with the institution's academic portfolio, global initiatives, and institutional priorities. This role requires a leader with a strong connection to the culinary and food-related education and scholarship, and an authentic desire to engage with alumni and donors. The VP will be responsible for overseeing a staff of 21 and must have a proven track record in fundraising, including securing significant funds from various sources and managing a substantial annual fundraising goal.

Candidates for the VP position should have a minimum of 10 years' of senior-level leadership experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on philanthropy and a deep understanding of modern fundraising principles. The role demands a strategic, entrepreneurial leader with a growth mindset, capable of driving complex fundraising initiatives and expanding the institution's reach and impact. Experience in change management, global market expansion, and a collaborative decision-making style are essential. The ideal candidate will be adept at building and maintaining relationships, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong analytical and problem-solving ability. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Master's degree is preferred, with a background in a related field being a distinct advantage.
