Product Development Designer

Location: Framingham, Massachusetts

Job Type: Contract

Compensation Range: $35 - 42 per hour

We are looking for a Product Development Designer to develop trend and artwork for apparel.

Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops and executes technically accurate artwork for specified product programs.
• Works with the Product Development team from the concept meeting through the artwork execution and prototype process.
• Must have ability to work on multiple projects, anticipating problems and devising solutions.
• Develop concept boards and design artwork, utilizing freehand sketching as well as Photoshop/Illustrator.
• Selects color palettes; requires knowledge of current color and trend information.
• Exposure to working with overseas vendors preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of competitive products and brands.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Design or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to sketch technical flats in Adobe Illustrator.
• Ability to fill technical flats in Adobe Illustrator.
• Develop full size artwork layouts in Adobe Illustrator with detailed call-outs.
• Knowledge of garment construction - sweater knowledge is a plus.
• Detail Oriented. Effective communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and interpret conceptual design ideas.
• Strong organization and follow through skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates expertise in their functional area.
• Knowledge of trend and color.
• 3+ years in Product Development with relevant product categories.
