Title
Instructional Designer

The Instructional Designer plays a key role in developing high-quality digital learning content across Bronson. This role designs, produces, and maintains eLearning modules, videos, and blended learning materials that align with adult learning principles and organizational priorities. Working collaboratively with the Learning Technologies Supervisor, HR, and the Center for Learning, the Instructional Designer ensures all learning content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with Bronson's standards for accessibility and quality. The position also partners with content vendors and explores new tools and technologies, including AI-assisted design, to continuously improve the learner experience.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

  • Design, storyboard, and develop eLearning courses, CBLs, and blended learning experiences using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, and Camtasia.
  • Create visual, audio, and interactive elements that make learning content engaging and accessible for all employees.
  • Apply adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, and Bronson's design standards in all projects.
Media Production
  • Plan, film, and edit video-based learning content in collaboration with the Learning Technologies Supervisor.
  • Manage pre- and post-production tasks, ensuring high-quality visuals, sound, and accessibility.
  • Maintain consistent branding, tone, and structure across all learning media.
Collaboration & Content Governance
  • Partner with subject matter experts, HR, and leaders across the organization to understand learning needs and translate them into effective digital solutions.
  • Support coordination with external vendors for content creation, updates, and quality review.
  • Partner with the Learning Technologies Supervisor and Human Resources Information System (HRIS) team to ensure content is properly configured, tested, and deployed in Workday Learning.
AI & Innovation
  • Explore and test AI-enabled tools that enhance course design, video production, or content efficiency.
  • Contribute ideas and prototypes that bring innovation and creativity to Bronson's digital learning offerings.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
  • Gather and analyze feedback from learners and stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of training content.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance clarity, engagement, and learner outcomes.
  • Maintain organized records of design files, templates, and documentation for version control and consistency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, eLearning development, or multimedia production.
  • Proficiency in authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, or Adobe Captivate, and video editing tools such as Camtasia, Davinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Adobe Premiere.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory, accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA), and eLearning technical standards (SCORM, AICC, and xAPI).
  • Excellent visual design, writing, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with AI tools or automation in content development is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is preferred.

Physical and Sensory Demands

  • Regular setup and movement of production equipment that may exceed 25 lbs.
  • Frequent visual and auditory focus when editing and reviewing content.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid position with work in office, studio, remote, and on-site settings.
  • Moderate noise levels during filming and editing activities, and varied environments at filming locations.
