Assembly Technician MAC Trailer is adding an Assembler to its team. The role utilizes mounting and assembly knowledge to assemble/mount parts and products for the tractor trailer industry.

Shift hours are Mon – Thur 7am – 5:30pm with additional overtime.

Wage range: $19.50 – $26.25.

What You Will Do

Perform and abide by safety policies and procedures while performing tasks and other related assignments

Review specification documentation and information related to assignments to ensure products are manufactured to customer specifications and MAC quality standards

Perform a wide variety of work assignments to contribute and complete assembly tasks including but not limited to carrying aluminum and steel parts, cleaning products, mounting tires, applying stickers and tape, drilling, bolting, installing components, reading and using tape measures, sawing aluminum material with circular saw, and using impact wrench and other various air tools

Perform daily custom assembly tasks within designated time requirements

Perform, understand, comprehend, and communicate basic math functions primarily related to measurement

Take the parts to lines, pull parts for all lines, and mount tires as a substitute for warehouse positions

Communicate issues of concern and any other pertinent information that affects the productive completion of quality product, schedule of product, and safety to supervisor

Perform all other assigned duties

Clean work areas during and at the end of the shift

Organize and restock needed parts and materials

Assist other employees as needed and instructed

Any other duties assigned

Basic math skills

Ability to read and understand basic measurements and use basic lengths of measurement

Oral comprehension and expression skills to listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally and then effectively communicate the information and ideas verbally

Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted

Ability to comprehend and interpret detailed drawings and measurements.

Ability to communicate, abide by, verify, and logically respond to safety policies, procedures, and concerns

Able to work any shift based on production need

Ability to work assigned shift and/or extended shift hours

Ability to work alone or with a team

Education and Experience

Mechanical experience is preferred

Experience or knowledge of tractor trailer building is preferred

Physical Demands

Ability to use close vision

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects

Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects

Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position

Ability to physically inspect own work and perform work in various positions and heights

Ability to push, pull, and lift various materials including aluminum, steel, and parts

Ability to successfully maneuver, lift, bend, kneel, and stoop

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
