As this is a public office, and due to conflict of interest concerns, all employees of the Tulsa County Assessor’s Office must place any real estate license in an INACTIVE status while employed here, or as soon as any current transactions are completed.# # Job Description**Examples Of Work Performed*** Photograph exterior street view of residential properties in annual cycle of predetermined areas.* Using photo comparison, aerial photographs, change-detection software and other technologies, determine changes to physical attributes, and update documentation.* Inspect, measure, and sketch properties to confirm changes in attributes.* Evaluate new plats, and assign value to vacant land.* Assist with analyzing mass appraisal modeling data utilizing power BI and other technologies.* Maintain knowledge of current economic conditions affecting real property value.* Maintain files to defend and support rendered values.* Conduct informal protest and formal appeal hearings for contested values.* Assist with cross-training and all other functions of the office.* Train co-workers, and perform other duties as assigned.**Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities*** Interact with all customers and co-workers in a supportive, professional manner.* Attain knowledge of Oklahoma statutes, Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) rules, International Association of Assessing Officer (IAAO) standards, and Assessor’s office policies affecting real property appraising, and departmental procedures.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.* Upon hire, achieve mastery of the three approaches to value in appraising real property (cost, sales comparison, and income).* Attain ability to defend values before Board of Equalization.* Attain a base of working knowledge of mass appraisal modeling.* Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle in all driving conditions.**Education And/Or Experience**Bachelor’s degree **(preferred)** in mathematics, communications, economics, statistics, accounting, finance, computer science, business administration, or related field,**OR**, significant, successfully employed experience in appraisal or real estate related field.Upon hire, must successfully complete the Oklahoma State Advanced Accreditation Program.# # Additional Job Description**Mathematical Skills**Ability to work with fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, and draw appropriate conclusions from data sets.**Supervisory Responsibilities**This position has no supervisory responsibilities.**Language Skills**Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business media, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
