Job Description
Assess the needs, strengths, and preferences of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Assist individuals in completing job applications, drug screens, and other employment requirements.
Establish relationships with employers and applicants regarding problems, complaints, and progress of individuals, and recommend corrective actions when appropriate.
Promote and develop on-the-job training program opportunities with employers.
Identify the need for and assist in developing auxiliary services to facilitate employment for disadvantaged applicants.
Provide onsite training and support services, working with clients on their schedule, including nights and weekends.
Demonstrate job duties to individuals and observe workers performing tasks to ensure understanding.
Solicit and obtain employment opportunities through sales calls and presentations.
Use discretion and judgment regarding job analysis, placements, and terminations.
Ensure compliance with procedures and safety regulations.
Reassign individuals to simpler or more complex tasks based on their competence.
Consult with employers and teach them how to work effectively with the individuals served.
Transport individuals as needed.
Write and update individual training plans.
Provide accurate daily and monthly documentation.
Collaborate with support services and families.
