Chemical manufacturer is seeking a driven raw material chemical sales engineer to join their growing team. If you have 4+ years of experience with selling unsaturated polyester resins and building a business, this could be a great role for you! Manage the sales and support the commercial development of company’s unsaturated polyester resins (UPR) product line in the US. Responsibility for direct account management and support of any distributors. Focus on growing sales in key application areas including FRP continuous lamination panels/sheets, filament winding, tanks, GFP poles, synthetic stone surfaces, gel coats, electrical insulation, etc. Interact technically with customers and company’s internal R&D and technical service groups, here in the USA as well as in Italy. Increase sales, market share and profitability of UPR at existing accounts and through new customer development. Negotiate sales contracts to new and existing accounts to be finalized in NJ in order to secure sales volumes when appropriate. Provide assistance in coordinating efforts of UPR technical service personnel. Utilize CRM platform to develop an opportunity pipeline and document customer and market interactions. Provide input on competition and industry trends with respect to the afore-mentioned products. Assist in the selection of products to be promoted in the region. Support the development of company brands at trade shows and other industrial events. Participates in all safety related activities and meetings. Performs above-mentioned responsibilities safely, ethically and in compliance with all federal and state regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Technical Qualifications: College degree required; preferred in business, chemistry, polymer and/or chemical engineering. Minimum of 4 years of customer-facing experience in UPR composites industries – sales experience preferred. Technical knowledge of UPR products and their applications. Coatings experience, especially with solvent-based polyester products, especially in can, coil and other bake-enamel type applications, is a secondary preference. Good working knowledge of Microsoft systems including Outlook and Excel. Ability to use CRM software for opportunities, call reports, and competitive information.
