Engage families in strengthening relationships within the school community, building capacity to support learning at home, and facilitating access to community resources that address barriers to learning. Qualifications
High school diploma (required) College or equivalent training in interpersonal relations (desired) Experience in community relations or related activities with adults and/or parents Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated willingness to collaborate with educators to improve home‑school relations Flexibility to work non‑standard hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed Ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and community members Valid California driver’s license and personal automobile for use on district business Bilingual ability may be required, depending on assignment Performance Responsibilities
Facilitate school‑site efforts to engage parents in the academic, attendance, health, and social‑emotional success of their children by coordinating services and programs that increase academic achievement. Assist school staff with parent contact through community visits, phone calls, and occasional home visits to build relationships and increase family participation. Support staff and families in meetings, training, and access to community support services; provide information on available resources. Develop and implement strategies to increase parent attendance at school meetings and district events; create opportunities for parent input and feedback. Assist with transportation of parents to school and district meetings and activities. Participate in professional development on outreach, parent recruitment, leadership, and effective parent education strategies. Facilitate parent education sessions linked to learning, including classes, workshops, and other engagement opportunities. Prepare and distribute correspondence such as newsletters and educational materials to inform parents of school policies and student support services. Communicate parent needs to school staff and convey school/district concerns to parents. Organize and facilitate monthly Parent Cafés and quarterly Family Education Nights to promote engagement. Track and monitor parent and family engagement efforts, including attendance records, welcome packet outreach, and representation on governance bodies. Attend district events that may occur evenings or weekends. Salary
Hourly: $20.03 – $32.55 Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated according to the District's “Improvement of Professional Services” handbook, Board policies, and collective bargaining agreements when applicable. Minimum Application Requirements
An online application and the following documents are required by 8:00 p.m. on January 21, 2026: high‑school diploma. Transcripts, certificates, or diplomas may be submitted; originals may be requested for verification. Conditions of Employment
Proof of private automobile insurance and possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license may be required. Fingerprint clearance (FBI and California Department of Justice) is required after all other conditions are met.
