As a Junior Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and support of computer systems and networks./ppResponsibilities:/pulliInstalling and configuring software updates, patching operating systems, managing system backups, and performing routine hardware checks./liliDetermines when server, software, and OS upgrades are required and ensures that all upgrades are completed as scheduled, and that appropriate documentation exists prior to implementation/liliCreating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, assigning permissions, and resetting passwords./liliIdentifying and resolving common technical problems with computer systems, network connectivity, and applications./liliMonitoring system performance metrics like CPU usage, memory utilization, and network traffic to identify potential issues./liliMaintaining system documentation with details about configurations, troubleshooting steps, and user guides./liliProviding first-level technical assistance to end-users regarding computer issues./liliImplementing basic security measures like password policies and virus scans./liliActively acquiring knowledge and skills in system administration through training programs and mentorship from senior colleagues./liliConduct Hardware inventory, capture serial-number, model number and input captured data in hardware database/liliMaintain software updates, renewals and purchases/li/ulpMinimum Qualifications:/pulliBachelors Degree with 4+ years experience and/or ongoing technical training and/or certification programs specific to the work units hardware/software tools/liliPossess Comp TIA A+, Security+, Network+ Certifications/liliAbility to work with diverse team and mentor when needed/liliRespectable understanding of operating systems like Windows, and Linux/liliUnderstanding Basic Networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DNS, firewalls)/liliKnowledge of common system administration tools/liliProblem-solving and analytical skills/liliAbility to work independently and as part of a team/liliExcellent communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical users/liliExperience with Windows Server NT/2000/2003/2019 and Active Directory Services/liliKnowledge of building server from start to finish to include (VM) Virtual Machines plus, Nodes and hardware/liliStrong verbal and written communication skills; must be organized and detail oriented/liliMust be able to troubleshoot software and hardware problems, through understanding of industry standards and the ability to work with diverse workforce/liliMust have an Active Top Secret/SCI US Government clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance./li/ulpWork Environment:/pulliIndividual will perform most of his/her functions from the Network Administration Office where the network servers are located./liliIndividual will be required to access all network workstations for software and configuration upgrades, troubleshooting, repair, and modifications./liliOccasionally, individual will also install, replace, or repair Windows 11 workstations/li/ulpCompensation Details:/ppThe compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
